Community Garden Initiatives Grant 2026
Afree Foundation Announces 2026 Community Garden Grant Cycle: Empowering Local Food Sovereignty & Green Spaces
The Afree Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its 2026 Community Garden Grant Program, a targeted funding initiative dedicated to expanding urban agriculture, cultivating neighborhood green spaces, and promoting grassroots food sovereignty.
Community gardens serve as vital neighborhood anchors fostering environmental education, youth mentorship, food access, and local resilience. Through this grant cycle, the Afree Foundation provides direct micro-capital to grassroots organizers, community leaders, youth groups, and neighborhood stewards who are turning vacant and underutilized land into productive, nourishing community hubs.
Grant Funding Tiers
Awards for this cycle range from $500 to $1,500 per selected project, structured to support both early-stage garden startups and established growing initiatives looking to expand their footprint.
