Education Program Grant 2026
The Afree Foundation is opening the application cycle for its 2026â2027 Education Program Grant, providing micro-capital to organizations strengthening learning pathways, academic enrichment, and educational equity across local communities.
This grant stream directly supports local organizations delivering structured academic support, early childhood enrichment, foundational STEM experiences, and secondary credential attainment programs.
Grant Funding & Eligibility Requirements
- Award Range: Grants range from $500 to $2,500 per selected organization.
- Organizational Restriction: This grant is exclusively available to organizations (such as educational nonprofits, community learning centers, and structured youth programs). Grants are not available for individuals.
Eligible Focus Areas
Funding must support initiatives operating in at least one of the following domains:
- Academic Tutoring & Literacy: Kâ12 homework assistance, reading interventions, and peer-to-peer tutoring hubs.
- STEM & STEAM Learning: Hands-on robotics, coding, science kits, and experiential technical education.
- Early Childhood Education: Pre-K literacy readiness, foundational cognitive development, and parent-child learning programs.
- GED Attainment & Adult Literacy: High school equivalency exam preparation, adult basic education, and test-fee/study assistance.
Allowable Uses of Funds
Grant capital must directly cover the operational tools and instructional materials required to run the program:
- Supplies & Educational Materials: Workbooks, curriculum kits, science/maker materials, art supplies, learning software, and testing study guides.
- Volunteer & Peer Mentor Stipends: Modest stipends to support, train, and retain volunteer tutors, youth leaders, and educational mentors.
- Equipment & Technology Hardware: Classroom/learning devices, projectors, printers, STEM hardware kits, and specialized learning apparatus.
